"Too Gone Too Long" is a song by En Vogue, released as the final single from their third album, EV3. The song was written by famed writer Diane Warren who has written mega hits like "Un-Break My Heart" and "Because You Loved Me". Warren crafted the thematically and lyrically similar "I Learned From The Best" for Whitney Houston's comeback album My Love Is Your Love the following year which also became a considerable Billboard hit. "Too Gone Too Long" reached #33 on the Hot 100 in Billboard becoming the group's ninth and final Top 40 hit.
While EV3 was being recorded, Dawn Robinson chose to leave. Her voice is heard throughout the harmony and lead vocals on 95% of the album including this song.
